Endangered animals

Tsunami

It was a beautiful and stunning day. a day where all the kids were having their fun.
But one day something horrible happened in our town and for the whole environment.
This is a story of a teenager named Railey, Michael, Wesley, and Ria who survived the horrifying disaster.

“Ahhhh” what a  beautiful morning, a good time to assemble my group and go to the tree house” said ailey
“Maybe.. I should ask them to come” and have a plan for today maybe we could some adventures or maybe go to the park”
Okay made up my mind I think i should ask them.

A few minutes, the team finally assembled. “OKAY guys what should we do today” said Railey
“Mhmm idk” idk said michael
I think we should make a fort out of cupboards or maybe we should play water fight
“Mhmm thats a good Idea” said Railey
“But first we must make a vote first,” said Ria.
But before they made the vote something happened- “Hey guys did you hear that it sounded like a earthquake” said Michael
“Mhmm I think did” replied Wesley
“I think we should Check it out” said Railey
“Roger” said Michael
As we got outside everyone started running so we asked what was happening the man guys we gotta run there's an earthquake that caused the tectonic plates to bump into each other and cause a tsunami we have to go to the highest mountain possible so we gotta go NOW!!

As we got up the mountain the water and then….. SPLASH!!
The water hits the town and floods everything. But sadly most of the people died and the whole town was filled with dirt and wet sands.

After the horrific disaster we finally went back home and have a rest
“Pheww! What a day I cant believe more than 20 people died in this horrible disaster”.

Predator Free 2050
85 million years ago NZ was one of the first countries to split apart from Gondwanaland. Gondwanaland is when all the land in the whole Earth was together in one big country - they split up and became the continents. This meant that the only mammals NZ has, either swan here or flew here.

Because NZ is an island with no mammals, the birds, insects etc became defenseless (because they had no predators to hide from). Maori and Europeans settlers killed lots of animals, and brought with them predators from other countries (for example possums, rats, stoats, dogs).

Those predators brought here by settlers, have destroyed our native birds/plants. NZ has one of the worst extinction records of any nation in the world.

NZ has been trying to control the pests by using traps, poisoning but it hasn’t really worked. We need to work together to control the pests.

It is everyone’s responsibility to control pests and protect native species - all New Zealanders.

quiet place

It was the day when the aliens came. People started screaming, running and finding clues . But one day we found out that the aliens can only hear but not see us. It started when Railey, ria, our baby brother jacob and our dad Michael were shopping groceries, then suddenly we heard sirens “WUAHHHHHHHHH” “I'm scared,” said Railey and Ria so they headed out to check what was going on. But suddenly we saw ALIENS roaming our land, called New Zealand. After a few years we learned how to do sign language. By railey

frost dragon

A journey to the frost dragon
Hmmm… A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step”  Davlyn thought to himself as he set off with his friends Railey, Wesley and Kordell  to climb the mountain directly to antarctica. As we prepared our ropes for the enormous we climbed up and started being terrifying by looking down. As we got up, we quickly packed up and found a safe place to build a hut/tent.

In the next morning we quickly had a quick meal of sliced bread.
As we got ready we finally saw a small bit of our destination.
And so.. We rushed towards it but suddenly we saw a huge blizzard that may pull us all the way back. We got ready and…… the blizzard blasted through us and blew us away. But luckily we found a safe cave that may save us from getting pulled back.
“But I CAN'T SEE ANYTHING”  shouted Kordell
So we went in bags and got our  goggles and saw things a bit better. So we went and got to the cave
“PHEW” said Wesley
“I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW” said Davlyn
“WE WERE ALMOST THERE”.
“IT WAS LIKE ONE MORE STEP AND WE COULD HAVE MADE IT”
As they argued.. Something happened. The ground started to rumble and suddenly the stalactite fell (icycle) from the ceiling. We suddenly got in panicked and then suddenly

ZOO REFLECTION

Today we learnt about animals that roam on houses or backyard and also we learnt about how to investigate their footprints and traps. But the best part was touching the skins of the animals that roam in the backyard like. Possums were brought here by an Australian man, Frazer came from the Zoo and he showcased different traps and also Animal skin. One trap left footprints and another trap left bite marks.
